PMR254-11 France, Alsace-Lorraine, Strasbourg: Romanesque south entrance to the cathedral; built between 1176 and 1439 in Romanesque-Gothic styles from local sandstone. At 142 metres, it was the highest building in the world until 1874. Original carvings 1230-40: "Death of Mary" in left tympanum, and "Crowning" in right tympanum.
