Caption: | The deep gorge of Standley Chasm is about 50 klmswest of Alice Springs and set in the West MacDonnell Ranges. Its main attraction for visitors are its 60 foot steep walls turning a reddish colour as the midday sun shines directly overhead.Standley Chasm was named after Mrs Ida Standley who became Alice Springs first school teacher in 1914. |
