Caption: | Henkersteg (Hangman's Bridge) is a roof titled bridge reconstructed in1954 of the original built in 1457 when it was torn down. The wooden Henkersteg pedestrian walkway spans the river Pegnitz that flows through the middle of the city of Nuremberg old town in Germany. The Henkerhaus (tower) was the executioner's residence in medieval times. It is now a museum displaying the executioner's torture tools. |
