Soknopaiou Nesos Centre 6566EG07JHP Soknopaiou Nesos Mudbrick Ruins Walls Temple Dimyah al-Siba Egyptian Ptolemaic town dating through to Roman times built by the shores of Lake Qarun or Moeris, with a substantial mudbrick enclosure wall partially buried surrounding the remains of a temple, in the centre of this photo, dedicated to Soknopaios, a form of the crocodile God Sobek. It is located in the western desert south of Cairo and is accessed by 4x4 from Faiyum and is often part of a desert trip including Qasr al-Saghah Temple.
